Growing out of it.

"My son just grew right out of his autism"

Father: Well, I guess he just grew right out of his autism.
Mother: Yes, but it happened to be the week we took him to Valerie Dejean.
Grandmother: I guess thay made a mistake, He must have never had autism in the first place.
Grandfather: I didn't think somebody from our family would ever be autistic.
Mother: Funny though, how he grew out of it the exact week he saw Valerie,

One year later...

Father: No my child was never autistic, We don't have that in our family.
Therapist: It must have been the floortime we gave him,
Doctor: It must have been the hyperbaric chamber.
Teacher: It must have been the Occupational therapy.
Mother: Funny though. Nothing ever did him any good for three years. Then after he saw Valerie these other expensive therapies seemed to start working.
Developmental Psychiatrist: I knew I was right all along. The floortime I prescribed helped him grow right out of it.
Valerie Dejean: Maybe its time for a booster so your child can grow out of it some more.
The Child himself: This is a rip off. I want to go to my hockey game.
Brother: I liked him better before, Now he's always trying to be just like me.
Mother: Funny, how he was never interested in sports before. All he ever used to do is watch the fan spin around and around,
Father: I told you my kid was normal.
School Administrator: Maybe we can mainstream your child in another three or four years after we have had a chance to evaluate him some more.
Special Ed. teacher: Junior was a wonderful success story. We are thinking of applying for another grant.
Therapist: I'm so glad our sensory developmental work finally paid off.
Doctor: Maybe you would like to use my hyperbaric chamber again?

Mother: What was that woman's name? Valerie?
Valerie's husband: If your therapy really works, how come you aren't rich like a millionaire?
Doctor: I am going to prescribe the hyperbaric chamber again.
Valerie's husband: In other words the kid hit a snag in his developmental growth and they called it autism. He came to you and you helped him grow out of it. Right?
Parent: Can't I do something like this myself at home and save seven thousand dollars?
Friend: Sure, didn't you teach yourself to type at home using Mavis Beaon?
Mother: Yes, and I've also learned French, Spanish, Arabic and Slovenian using Rosetta Stone, all while my child was growing out of his autism.
Doctor: Maybe it's time for another session on the hyperbaric chamber.
Some Wit: If they really thought she was that good, they would probably burn her at the stake.

Friend: Oh, they have, they have.
Liberal: Who is "they"?

Conservative: Probably you.

Some wit: In other words, if it is too good to be true, it probably isn't.

Valerie Dejean's husband: This guy (some wit) is the perfect example of the failure of imagination. Actually Valerie's treatment is so good that many parents don't actually believe that it could have happened. Meanwhile they are being brainwashed by the medical establishment to believe that nothing significant can happen without the use of prescription drugs. This relegated the likes of my wife and the Tomatis Method to the realm of alternate therapy.

Many sound therapy methods rely heavily on Tomatis in their advertising it is easy to confuse them and be mislead into thinking  that you are doing the Tomatis Method, when in fact you are not. In examining all that goes into achieving the Tomatis Effect it would seem that these Tomatis Based Methods are not achieving the actual Tomatis effect.
